Many of you must would have heard about VASTU SHASTRA . People often have a wrong perception about it. Vastu Shastra is often connected to orthodoxies and superstitions . Whereas , it is a traditional Hindu system of architecture which literally translates to “science of architecture.” These are texts found on the Indian subcontinent that describe principles of design, layout, measurements, ground preparation, space arrangement and spatial geometry.  The designs are intended to integrate architecture with nature, the relative functions of various parts of the structure, and ancient beliefs utilizing geometric patterns , symmetry and directional  alignments.

1. Go green:- The most basic and foremost Vastu tip

Plants are an integral part of our homes as well as our lives. In order to let the positive air flow in, as per Vastu Shastra one should plant Tulsi and Basil leaves outside their home.

2.Nameplate outside the door-

Vastu experts advise people to go for placing a nameplate just outside their home such as on the main wall or main door. It is believed that positivity traces the owner and comes back to you.

3.Say NO to mirrors in bedroom-

It causes ill health and differences among family members. It is advised to cover the dressing table or wardrobe mirror with a curtain especially while sleeping.

4 Wind chimes –

 It is important to use the tinkling bells as wind chimes in order to break the negative energy patterns. With the flow of tinkling sound, the negativity eradicates and the positive energy flows easily.

5. A bowl of happiness –

Keep a bowl full of water filled with flowers and lemon facing main door to attract positive energy.

6. Select wall hangings wisely –

Keeping the painting of waterfalls or fountains  in bedroom will adversely affect your happiness.

7 Make your home’s  center, a centre of happiness –

Ensure that the center part of the home is spacious with natural lighting and clutter free as per Vastu rules as this is the nose of the home from where it breathes.  Blockage of the central part is not so good.

8. Fix the fault with salt –

As per Vastu, it is believed to place a bowl of salt in all the corners of home to diminish negative energy.

10 . Right colour for your bedroom –

Using colour in your homes not only provides relief from the monotony of plain white or cream walls, but also adds brightness to the home, thereby lifting the positivity in the ambiance. However, make sure that you use the right colours. Blue, green and yellow are ideal for setting a relaxing or vibrant mood in a room. As far as possible avoid using a large amount of black as it brings negativity. Bright and bold shades such as red and purple are good in small doses.

11. No creaking of the doors –

Doors should open and close smoothly, nothing should block its movement as that also means blocking of good vibes and fresh air.  If you have creaking doors , spray some deodrant on the door hinges .
